Globally, the population is aging, with phenomenal implications for economies and social policy everywhere. In 2015, there were more than 1.6 billion people in the world who were 50-plus. By 2050, this number is projected to double to nearly 3.2 billion people. Throughout the world, the growth of an aging population is having a transformative impact, economically and socially.
Organizations have a golden opportunity to tap into Aging and the new Longevity Economy, yet Ageism, the last form of discrimination, is in the way of progress.
Ageism limits opportunities, perpetuates stereotypes, and hinders progress for individuals, businesses, and society as a whole. The cost of Ageism is significant and can be calculated in terms of lost productivity, lost innovation, loss of wisdom and mentorship, lack of workplace diversity and increased healthcare costs, to name a few impacts.
It’s time for this to end once and for all.

Our vision is clear: Dismantle ageism to help us all unlock the potential in an aging world. We’re on a mission to create a movement that sparks action, deepens commitment, and builds a more equitable society.
3rd State has created a multi-year, multi-faceted initiative to make an ageless universe a reality. This initiative includes the development of a phased, multi-channel campaign, new tools, resources and standards, training programs and more.
Our creative campaign takes a playful approach to show the absurdity of missed opportunities due to ageist views. We imagine a world where older superheroes, still wielding all their superpowers, are faced with ageist discrimination. Utilizing the iconic imagery of superheroes is a symbolic way of highlighting the resilience, wisdom, and value that aging adults contribute to society.
